On November 11, we honor America’s veterans, whose service and sacrifice
deserve lasting gratitude. This year, honoring them also means demanding
accountability from those directing our military.
President Donald Trump dismissed Gen. Charles “CQ” Brown Jr., a four-star
general and the second Black chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Under Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, reports of Black and female officers being removed from promotion lists have prompted congressional demands for answers.

The Pentagon denies discrimination, but service members deserve fairness and
transparency.
Deadly U.S. boat strikes in Caribbean waters have raised questions about evidence, civilian deaths and legality. Meanwhile, the war with Iran has cost lives, disrupted energy supplies and increased fuel costs.
Republican Rep. Thomas Massie introduced articles of impeachment against Hegseth, alleging violations of congressional war powers and other abuses. An early House recess delayed action until after the midterm elections.
Our veterans deserve gratitude—and a government that respects service, supports those in uniform and answers for its decisions.
Let us honor their sacrifice by voting November 3.
