Jewel-Osco recently remodeled two southside stores at 87th & Dan Ryan and 95th & Ashland. Real Men Cook, the brand and event presented for 32 consecutive Father’s Days, featured Chef Sean Meyers and veteran volunteers including Greg Hardin, cooking at both events at the request of Jewel. The company also presented two non-profits, Real Men Charities and the South Shore Drill Team, with donations to forward their visions for a safe and peaceful Chicago, and for continuing to develop youths with their programming.

On hand at the 95th & Ashland location to help intro-duce a renewed commitment by Jewel as well as their leadership in community to the southside were Mayor Loti Lightfoot and president of Jewel-Osco, Mike Withers. Also attending were Alderman Howard Brookins and Carlos Nelson, CEO of the Auburn Gresham Development Corporation, and a variety of community leaders as well as business men and women representing 25 brands sampling their Black-owned and other ethnic products.
