In an effort to enliven one of the most depressing strips in the city of Chicago, with boarded storefronts from 75th & Jeffery Blvd to Lake Michigan. The photos in this article are of art pieces that adorn the windows at The Quarry Event Center at 2423 East 75th Street. The art is by Synthia Saint James, the artist who created the original Kwanzaa postage stamp images. In addition, all 7 Principles of the Nguzo Saba occupy a single window. Also, 7 windows pay tribute to legacies of hard work and contribution. Each features a  single iconic south-side business, culture or community builder, all now deceased.  They are Henry English (Black United Fund of Illinois Dr. Conrad Worrill, Theresa “Teesee” Fambro Hooks, Attorney Lawrence Kennon, Juanita Passmore, Ernest Armstrong and Abena Joan Brown. Real Men Charities, Inc. raised funds from the South Shore Com-munity to completely cover the cost of this endeavor.
